The Neighborhood:
The Hawthorne/Buckman District places you within walking distance of a wide variety of top-notch local flavors. Make new friends over a meal at the Cartopia food cart pod, or share a pie at Apizza Scholls.
But Portland isn't just for foodies. Hawthorne boasts a vibrant indie spirit, with plenty of made-in-Oregon shops and boutiques to explore in this hipster haven. Catch a movie at Bagdad Theater and Pub, a revamped 1920s theater turned view-and-brew venue serving local McMenamins food and microbrews. If bar hopping through neighborhoods isn’t your idea of recreation, head up to Mt. Tabor, a 176-acre city park on top of a dormant volcano vent, where you’ll find miles of hiking trails and incredible panoramic views of the city.
Getting Around:
🚶 Walking — The Belmont and Hawthorne corridors are among Portland's most vibrant, with an eclectic mix of restaurants, vintage shops, cafes, and bars all within walking distance.
🚌 Bus — TriMet Route 15 (Belmont) runs along Belmont Street with frequent service to downtown. Route 14 (Hawthorne) is also nearby.
🚲 Biking — BIKETOWN bike-share is available in Portland. Portland's bike lane network offers options for exploring the city.
🚗 Driving — Free street parking available (read signs for restrictions). Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) is another option.
✈️ Airport — PDX is reachable by car or a MAX Red Line and bus connection; allow for traffic and current schedules.
Other Things to Note:
One sleeping area is located upstairs in an open loft. This involves a steep flight of stairs. Open grates between the other two bedrooms let sound carry.
This is the upper home of the duplex.
Please be mindful of the lower level below you and we kindly ask that shoes be taken off while inside the listing for the comfort of all.
