Visually, the rental is very nice. It’s clean, bright with lots of windows, nicely decorated, all on one level, and a comfortable size for two people. The bed itself is comfortable, the Wi-Fi is fast, connecting to the TV is simple, and modern amenities like an in-unit washer/dryer and a Brita filter are great additions.

There is virtually no house manual—the binder provided only contained a single page about local restaurants. Basic operations require guessing. For example, the front door lock took effort to figure out, the washer requires pressing "start" twice with no indication of why, and the beach pass mentioned in the listing was nowhere to be found. When we reached out about the non-responsive central thermostat, the contact was short and condescending, informing us that only the bedroom in-wall unit works for the entire house. Because that single unit has to cool the whole space, the bedroom becomes an icebox while trying to keep the rest of the layout comfortable. The bed was made with only a fitted sheet and a heavy comforter—no top sheet. Combined with the uneven cooling from the single working AC unit in the bedroom, regulating temperature while sleeping was very difficult. ​ Storage space is severely lacking across the entire unit. We had to keep our non-perishables on the kitchen counter, our clothes in suitcases on the floor, and our toiletries on the bathroom counter because there are no functional shelves or drawers. There is also nowhere to hang multiple bath towels to dry. ​ ​Towels were not laid out upon arrival; they were tucked away in a bedroom closet far from the kitchen and bathroom. ​There were no kitchen towels provided at all. ​Bathroom linens were minimal—only one washcloth was provided for makeup, and the provided body wash was heavily watered down. ​The USB ports in the bedroom nightstand lights do not work. ​Maintenance Nitpicks: The kitchen sink faucet and hand soap dispenser are very stiff and hard to regulate, causing the soap dispenser to shoot straight out onto your clothes unless covered. The bathroom door catches on the uneven floor and cannot open fully. In the laundry room, the broom mount is pulling away from the drywall.
