Welcome to The Star House, your peaceful mountain escape tucked away in a quiet corner of town. This bright and spacious 4 bedroom, 2 bath home blends rustic charm with artistic details, mountain views, and a lush garden setting perfect for relaxation, recovery, and landing pad to explore the San Luis Valley.
Wake up to the sound of the nearby creek and sunlight filtering through the Aspens. Enjoy morning coffee on the porch, explore trails, and spend evenings stargazing under Crestone’s dark skies.
Inside, you’ll find cozy living spaces filled with warmth and character throughout. The open kitchen and dining area are perfect for shared meals, while the upstairs bedrooms and balcony offer plenty of space to unwind.
Step outside into a shared garden oasis with 30 organic planter boxes, fruit trees, and seating areas ideal for picnics, or simply soaking up the mountain air.
Please note: There is a separate, locked-off apartment on the property occupied by long-term tenants. The apartment has no access to the main house. The only shared space is the outdoor garden areas.

• Joyful Journey Hot Spings - a gravity fed natural water hot springs clocking in at 30 mins from Star House, this hot springs boast several pools ranging from 98 degrees to 108 degrees and views of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains that are to die for! This venue is a solemn and contemplative experience which encourages quiet reflection and serenity.
• Valley View Hot Springs - all natural waters set in nature with hiking trails and views of the San Luis Valley. This venue clocks in at 40 mins from Star House and boasts all natural waters in natural pools. This is a clothing optional community so you should be comfortable with other human bodies, and access can be limited so be sure to plan ahead.
• Sand Dunes Recreation Hot Springs - a natural water hot springs with tons of amenities. This location clocks in at 35 mins from Star House and is geared for socializing and hot soaking. Large beautiful house in the middle of Crestone. You can see the night sky as it was meant to be seen from the back patio. Very quiet and loved the little chipmunks and rabbits in the yard. Fits a family of four well and you can walk to playground and markets downtown.

This is a very charming historic house in Crestone with many neat features, interesting decorations (I don't want to spoil it for you!), and great mountain views! I stayed here over the July 4th weekend with my husband and our three pups. We had a lot of space to ourselves with the 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms! The bed we slept on and all the furniture was very comfortable! The wifi was excellent and the large smart tv in the upstairs living area worked great (with some free streaming services). The bathrooms were clean with hot water and extra amenities available. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our own meals, store the food we brought along, and to get our coffee fix! There were lots of windows throughout the house providing natural light and peaceful views. Two portable a/c units (one on each floor) help keep the house cool in the summer. If you bring pups, the back yard is fenced, with several trees for shade, and many interesting features for them to explore. Just keep in mind, there is some low-lying cactus present (as is common in this region), so if your pups are not used to avoiding cactus, you might want to keep a close eye on them. We loved sitting on the backyard porch enjoying the peace and quiet, and the sunrises above the mountains are amazing! This property is located just a short walk from "downtown" Crestone, where you'll find some cute little pocket parks, a few eateries with great reviews, etc. We would love to stay here again!
