Walk 500 yards to the ocean and sand with this terrific Night Heron Cottage, and take advantage of the screened porch and back deck for plenty of peace and quiet during your stay. Inside, the home offers attractive floors, tasteful decor, and tons of space. The living area is the perfect place to host big family events, enjoy homemade popcorn during a movie night with the flatscreen cable TV, or just curl up with your favorite novel while everyone is down at the beach. You'll love exploring the community, especially when you challenge a friend to a match on the shared tennis court.

Be sure to tee off next door at Night Heron Park Golf Course, or at any of the other courses that pepper the island such as Cougar Point and Turtle Point Golf Courses, both less than three miles away. For great food, family-friendly activities, and carriage tours, be sure to check out historic downtown Charleston, only 25 miles away! You can bike or drive to Freshfields village, about four miles away, where you’ll find some great restaurants, boutiques, and grocery stores for some fresh local produce. Just a bit further down the road is Bohicket Marina (about 5 miles away) for boat cruises, dolphin tours, live music, wine tastings, and more! And if you're wanting that morning exercise, you have over 30 miles of walking and bike trails that cover almost all of Kiawah Island.

We loved the location! It was walking distance to Night Heron and a short bike ride to a quiet beach and the Sandcastle. It was also very clean and uncluttered. It is in desperate need of kitchen ware, however. The coffee cups, glasses, pots and skillets need replacing, there’s only a couple of teaspoons and bowls. Also, the front and back porches are bare; nothing to sit on. We would definitely stay there again.

Overall a great house and location! The walk to the beach was a little further than we thought, but not bad with our beach cart! We had plenty of room and everything we needed for a nice week at the beach! The only thing that could have been better was if it included resort privileges for the pool and other resort amenities.

The location of the property was excellent-within walking to Night Heron Park and beach. The house itself was clean but rather dated. The kitchen was clean but with sparse amenities. 3 mismatched wine glasses in various locations

We enjoy renting in this neighborhood on Kiawah island. The house was comfortable and not overly cluttered. The kitchen was lacking in basics (only 3 glasses and dirty and scratched up pots and pans). We did not care for the rental management company. We reached out the day of arrival to confirm passes would be ready at the gate and they confirmed they would be. However, when we arrived they were not and the island did not have our reservation on file at all. When I let the rental agency know their response was unconcerned (possible automated responses). We also asked if a grill was at the property before arriving and the rental agency replied they are not allowed. We have stayed at other properties in this neighborhood that have them. Grills are not allowed in villas but are at free standing homes like this. We would rather rent directly from homeowners or better managed properties for our next visit.
