Very friendly staff and great food in the restaurant

Need a Hotel at the last minute for a trip from Manchester airport so booked the Alty Hotel as it had reasonable reviews and was close to the airport and looked good value for money. We weren't expecting too much as it was only £44 per night without breakfast, but it exceeded our expectations and had every thing we needed for a one night stay. We were getting up at 04:00 so did not expect breakfast so weren't disappointed that the restaurant/dining room was closed for refurbishment. I would stay again if needing a hotel near the airport.
I would have liked the restaurant to have been open for a meal in the evening. That said we found a curry house within a few minutes walk.

It was moderately clean and tidy and parking was included
Bathroom smelled rancid, like a porta potty and it's extremely noisy with other guests from all around very clearly audible
