The newly renovated Hangtree House was re-envisioned as a modern mountain retreat, reminiscent of our childhood family cabin experiences but with modern, eclectic and Scandinavian design elements. You will feel the vintage vibe but enjoy many well-appointed common and social spaces, luxury amenities, and cozy interesting sleeping spaces. We love our furry friends and welcome them with open paws!

The dining room sports a beautiful custom live edge table for epic family gatherings, the huge deck is designed to take advantage of the tremendous star-gazing, open-air dining, and perfect social gathering, and the lounge area is perfect for Apres Ski, game playing, and staying close to the kitchen while others cook for you! But you may not want to leave the house at all-- with board games, ping pong, corn hole, streaming and music, and plenty of spaces to lounge you can easily chill at the house all day, wrap yourself up in a blanket, read by the wood burning fireplace. Private lake included to listing.

HangTreeHouse is close to Murphys for wine tasting and adult nights out, 20 minutes door to slopes of Bear Valley, 2 minutes walk to Snowshoe Lake for swimming, playing, and floating, a clubhouse with frisbee golf and summertime pool activity, and a perfect jumping off point for hiking and exploring the Arnold Rim Trail, Spicer, and Utica Lake, and the Stanislaus River. We will leave you with a playbook for the most amazing vacation, with an insider's guide to all the best things to do, best places to visit, and best places to eat in Calaveras!

My family and I cannot recommend this house more- we had an AMAZING weekend together. There was plenty of space for our family of 10 (6 adults, 4 kids) not to mention tons of activities to keep our kiddos busy. The house was considerably nicer then the pictures online, the kitchen was well stocked with everything you need, as were the bathrooms and laundry area.
Outside of the house itself, the location cannot be beat. The private community lake was a hit and the kids spent hours kayaking, catching catfish, and building sand castles. We also were able to easily access Alpine Lake and Big Trees, giving us the opportunity to fit in so much in our short amount of time. Lastly, we enjoyed an amazing lunch at the Lube Room just down the road- food was delicious and the kids played on the big open field- we almost walked back down for the live music on Saturday night but chose to enjoy a comfy night on the couch instead :) It was the best weekend, full of forever memories!
The only downside of the weekend is that we didn't stay longer- would absolutely stay here again!

This is a very cozy and beautiful cabin with easy access to Hwy 4. It’s fully equipped with good quality items, from kitchen to bedding.
The host was very nice and attentive.

This is the perfect mountain cabin escape! Even more beautiful in person than the pics, the spotless home has everything you could want, including comfy beds, a well-appointed kitchen and cozy couches for watching movies. Their spacious wraparound deck envelopes you in nature- great place for morning coffee or an early evening drink. The home that sits in a beautiful, serene neighborhood that has the most idyllic alpine lake. We visited in summer, but will be coming back to try it out in various seasons to enjoy all that ****** has to offer. ****** and ****** were very responsive and made it a super easy check -in and out experience. Couldn’t recommend it more highly!
