Welcome to the “Zur Alten Mühle” vacation home—your spacious retreat in the charming harbor town of Orth on Fehmarn. The town is also known to many as the filming location for the popular TV series “Nord bei Nordwest,” in which it is portrayed as the fictional town of “Schwanitz.”

Here you can experience the quieter, more unspoiled side of the island—far from the hustle and bustle, but with plenty of nature, open spaces, and authentic coastal charm.

With several rooms and sleeping arrangements for up to six people, the vacation home offers plenty of space for families, couples, or small groups. Particularly noteworthy is the combination of generous space, a private garden, and a relaxed, nature-filled setting.

On the first floor, you’ll find a spacious living area with large windows that let in plenty of light and create a pleasant living atmosphere. The separate dining room, with direct access to the terrace, seamlessly connects the indoor and outdoor spaces and is perfect for shared meals.

The kitchen is functional and fully equipped—ideal for self-catering guests who want to remain flexible and independent.

The bedrooms are located on the upper floor. In total, there are several sleeping options available, spread across different rooms. The layout is particularly well-suited for families or groups, though it’s important to note that some rooms are designed as walk-through rooms.

The outdoor area is a real highlight: The terrace with seating and the garden offer plenty of space to relax, play, or enjoy social barbecue evenings.

Its location in Orth makes this vacation home particularly attractive for guests seeking peace and quiet or who love water sports. The nearby area is one of the island’s best surfing spots and offers ideal conditions for beginners and advanced surfers alike.

This vacation home is ideal for anyone who deliberately prefers a quieter location without having to sacrifice space, comfort, or a special setting.
