THE SCHLEI - A wonderful holiday region... The 42 kilometre long Schlei is a so-called "estuary" of the Baltic Sea, which separates the two Schleswig-Holstein regions of Angeln and Schwansen. Back then, the Schlei was an important trade route for the Vikings. It stretches from the town of Schleswig, via Arnis and Kappeln to Schleimünde, where it finally meets the Baltic Sea. Today, the Schlei is known as a popular sailing and rowing area and offers a great variety for discoveries and is a popular holiday destination. Anglers also get their money's worth here.
