The location is the hotel's greatest strength. It is very conveniently accessible to Plaza Mayor and the restaurants that we frequent when we visit Madrid. It is also literally a stone's throw away from church. Finally, management was sufficiently responsive and communicative.
The room was way in the back, through a long corridor. We thought that the layout of the rooms in the building was a bit odd and surmised that half of the building may in fact be residential. The bathroom was spacious and so could have been better designed: the shower could have been bigger to minimize the water that splashes outside onto the floor. Also, the seat of the chair in the room was totally not bolted into the frame.

Location was great!
Spacious room.
Quite dark room. As a woman, it was difficult to put on make up.
Strong bad smell of mold and strong bad smell in the bathroom.
Very expensive for what it was.

Clean room, friendly staff and very good location.
The check inn process is weird, they want your passport copy before staying - I never sent it.
Reception & staff are located in different building. All doors works with number code - and what if it won't work/random people come to accomodation floors? Also no safetybox in room. A bit unsecure feeling and hostel vibes.
The bed & pillows were horrible - didn't sleep barely at all! There's also church and busy road next to this building so noises are guaranteed.
There was no breakfast serving or room cleaning service.
