Disappointed

Friendly , attentive staff. Location was good. Modern caravan Comfortable beds.

Smell of urine in bedroom so was unable to use. Missing essential items- baking trays , dustpan and brush ,mop. Dirty sofas and once sofa bed was used and lifted lots of dirt on the floor from previous guests. Sofa bed wouldn't need to be used if room didnt smell of urine. Broken fridge.

We have stayed on this site many times in different caravans and found this time a little disappointing.

Location

Unfortunately it was not clean , dirty glasses with lip marks on them , dirt and webs on floors and doors , remains of last tenant in wardrobe, one room smelled really bad of urine .

lacking some basics but comfortable

Clean and comfortable, one of best caravan mattress to sleep on , i do lot of caravan staying

Lack of cleaning materials (brush dustpan loo brush), lack of glasses could only find 2 mismatching. No plug for sink or a bowl to wash up made washing up difficult. toilet continually filling and running over. outside light not work. had to reset tv on factory setting could not got it to work

Disappointing for Self Catering - especially kitchen utensils.

This site is quiet, but not too quiet. The staff on site are very pleasant & the costs for food & drink are very reasonable. Have visited this part before, and so we knew what to expect from Steeple Bay Holiday Park.

Very disappointed in the caravan itself (despite lovely photos on the website). The caravan hadn't been cleaned/prepared on our arrival at 4pm, but we understand there was an emergency in another caravan. The cleaners did arrive shortly afterwards, so we had to wait until 5pm (2CHolidays did compensate with a late check out. However the caravan itself was very poor for a self catering holiday accommodation - lacking in LOTS of areas. The kitchen was sparse to say the least, and we had 6 people staying here. No spatula, no tongs, no large/sharp knives, only 1 tiny frying pan, no plug in any of the caravan sinks, no plug or bowl provided for washing up in the kitchen, so excessive hot water used to wash up. Switch for exterior light was blanked out, so unable to turn this on/off & this area of the park was poorly lit. The previous tenants had managed to break a bedroom door off it's hinges (a cleaner kindly tried to fit it, but only on a temporary measure) & they had also managed to remove the shower strip which stops water escaping into the bathroom, and so we had to be extra careful throughout our stay. We understood bringing our own bedding & towels, but the caravan itself was very much lacking for a Self Catering holiday. We were only here 4 nights, but had this been a 1 or 2 week stay, I would have needed to request a change of caravan.
