Location was great. We arrived from hiking trail just after dark, and our wonderful hosts were in a car looking out for us on the road in the very small village. We hiked back out the next morning
They were really great to us guests.

The house is located about 5 mins from the Kumano route. Its a very nice and quiet area in a charming small village. You get the place for yourself and there is everything you need. The bed gave us the best sleep of our trip and the early morning gave us the most beautiful view of the clouds passing through the mountain village.
The host is welcoming and kind and provided great food and a relaxing environment!
We’ll be back if we visit chikatsuyu again.

This place was an amazing and private stay. Had all the amenities you could ask for including a massage chair!! Lovely clean property with amazing views. Included all the drinks and snacks you could need. The house is all yours to enjoy (no other guests).
Not a big one, but checkin needs you to make sure you have your phone on you to contact them (I had mine in airplane mode and had to activate eSIM) as host is offsite.
