We had such a wonderful stay! The host was absolutely amazing—so warm, helpful, and accommodating, and went out of their way to make sure all our needs were taken care of. The place is beautiful, peaceful, quiet, and has such a relaxing atmosphere. Our only regret is that our stay was far too short! We honestly wished we could have stayed much longer. Thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality. We truly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be coming back again soon. Highly recommended! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Loved every moment and no regrets

Die Ferienwohnung liegt in einem schönen, ruhigem Stadtteil fußläufig vom Stadtzentrum entfernt. Sie ist groß, gemütlich und recht komfortabel. Für kleine (und große) Kinder gibt es Spielzeug wie Puzzle, Brettspiele, Malbücher,...Den schönen Garten und den großen Pool haben wir wetterbedingt nicht genutzt.

Die Ausstattung der Küche ist für Selbstversorger recht spartanisch: wenig Geschirr, einiges davon in Plastik, wenig Platz im Küchenraum selbst.

The shower room was beautiful, there was a separate toilet, and an additional spacious bathroom with a lovely corner bath and two washbasins. Both bathrooms were beautifully tiled and very clean. The apartment itself was spacious, which was a real plus, and we enjoyed the view over the garden and pool. The deck was a great feature, with a braai and a generous supply of firewood provided by the host. Cornelius, our host, was super friendly, helpful and welcoming throughout our stay. We also appreciated the secure undercover parking behind a security gate. We never had any issues with the wifi, which was great.

There were a few things that affected our stay. Guests should be aware that there are quite a number of stairs to get to and from the apartment, which we had not fully anticipated. The kitchen was disappointing compared with the rest of the apartment, especially the bathrooms. It is a very small, dark space at the end of the corridor, with an old slate floor that did not look particularly appealing, and I did not feel comfortable preparing meals there. Guests should also be aware that there is a door connecting the apartment to the owners’ home, as well as another door connecting to a second guest apartment. Luckily, there were no other guests staying in that apartment during our visit, as we would have felt quite uncomfortable regarding privacy. Cleanliness in the bedrooms was another concern. There was a noticeable layer of dust inside the bedroom cupboards, so I had to wipe them out before we could unpack. As we were staying for five days, we needed to use the cupboards rather than live out of our suitcases. The extra blanket in the second bedroom also had a very strong, unpleasant smell, possibly from mothballs, which transferred onto our clothes. Overall, the apartment did not quite match the standard we expected, particularly in terms of the kitchen and cleanliness. We had two other one-night stays at guest houses in Stellenbosch, both before and after this stay and in a similar price range, so we did have these accommodations for comparison.
