The classic wooden house is bright and inviting, facing south, which means it gets plenty of sun throughout the day. The spacious front deck is perfect for breakfast in the sun, barbecue evenings, and relaxing summer moments. The property is lush and private, with lawns, rock gardens, and plenty of space for play and social activities.
You have your own private beach with shallow water and your own boat slip, allowing you to swim, paddle, fish, or head out onto the lake whenever you like. There’s also a barbecue area by the water, where you can enjoy dinners with a view of the lake.
The property features a charming orangery/greenhouse, a wonderful setting for dinners, game nights, and relaxation year-round. Adjacent to the orangery is the wood-fired sauna, which offers a private spa-like experience with the option of a refreshing dip in the lake.
For social gatherings, there’s also a separate activity room in a rustic wooden style—equipped with darts, a game table, solid-wood benches, and cozy evening lighting. A perfect place for togetherness, no matter the weather.

🦞 Crayfish Fishing Season Opener in Hensmåla – An Evening You’ll Never Forget

Every August, the crayfish season begins in our waters. It’s the only time of year when crayfish fishing is permitted, and for many Swedes, the crayfish season opener is one of summer’s most eagerly anticipated traditions.

As guests at Hensmåla, you’ll have the opportunity to join me personally out on the lake to experience this tradition up close.

Together, we’ll set out by boat in the evening sun to check the crayfish traps in the lake. It’s always just as exciting to see what’s waiting when the traps are pulled out of the water, and both children and adults usually appreciate the feeling of being part of something genuine and authentic.

After fishing, we’ll enjoy freshly cooked crayfish by the lake as the sun sets over the waters of Hensmåla.
