Stop by local favorite Gallery Bookshop; with luck, you might see the resident bookshop cat while selecting your next vacation read. You will also be close to Big River beach with its white sands, hidden coves and stunning nature trail (Beach towels and chairs are available on request).

If you prefer your walks with a side of shopping, stroll Main Street before crossing over to Mendocino Headlands State Park, which is crisscrossed by footpaths, all with amazing coastal views.

North of Mendocino, chase waterfalls at Russian Gulch State Park or visit the Point Cabrillo Light Station to marvel at the craftsmanship of the beacon and enjoy exhibits about life on the Mendocino Coast at the turn of the 20th Century.
