멜로우스테이 홍대 Mellow Stay Hongdae

The property was only a short walk from Hongik University Station, making it very convenient for using the subway and the Airport Railroad. There were plenty of restaurants, cafés, and convenience stores nearby. The room and private bathroom were clean, and the bedding was comfortable. The self-check-in instructions were clear and easy to follow, even on my first visit. I would recommend this place to travelers who value a convenient location and cleanliness in Hongdae.

Lokatie is top. Rustig en dichtbij de hustle en bustle van Hongdae. Metro om de hoek. Het is schoon.

Er is geen bemande receptie en er is geen kluisje. Communicatie via Booking zelf gaat goed, via telefoon en whatsapp alleen op bepaalde tijden. Was even zoeken hoe ik de receptie kon bereiken buiten kantoortijden. Minder handig is de douchekop boven de wc. De keuken is netjes, het ontbijt is beperkt (corn flakes met melk, toast met jam).

숙소 위치 덕분에 여행 일정이 정말 편했습니다. 홍대입구역이 바로 가까이에 있어 지하철을 타고 서울 여러 지역으로 이동하기 좋았습니다. 주변에는 맛집과 카페가 많고 편의시설도 잘 갖춰져 있어서 필요한 것이 있을 때 바로 해결할 수 있었습니다. 객실은 깔끔했고 침구와 욕실도 청결했습니다. 숙소 전체적으로 관리가 잘 되어 있는 느낌이었고 다음에도 다시 방문하고 싶습니다.

Location is super, just 5 minutes away from Hongkik University metro station. Eateries and shops are everywhere in the neighbourhood. Hongdae area is very lively and the hotel is located at the heart of it.

Everything else outside the location sucks! First of all, check-in is totally self service, no human to be found. Communications went through whatsapp. Second, to open the main door, you need not only the code (which you got in the mail), but most importantly you need to know how to operate the keypad. It seems that you need to swipe your palm in front of the bloody thing so that it lights up the keypad, but I kept touching a random key by accident. It was hard to get it right! So much frustration each time and I got pretty annoyed. Third, there was no towels in the room for shower, only hand towels were available. When I asked via whatsapp, the answer was that I can take larger towels from the closet at the 2nd floor. Why not just put them in the room?! Fourth, the noise!! When others are chatting late at night in the common area, it seems that they are sitting next on your bed! There is no soundproofing at all. Fifth, the bathroom. After showering the entire bathroom floor is wet. Can’t you put a (glass)wall or something?
