Our house is located directly on the eastern shore of Lake Chiemsee along the beach promenade. Nearby, you’ll find boat rentals, a dock, a beach, restaurants, mini-golf, and bike rentals. On our website, you’ll find the availability calendar and a detailed list of the vacation apartments’ amenities. One apartment is located on the first floor and is wheelchair accessible. The vacation apartment is located above the garage and features a large west-facing balcony that catches the evening sun. It has a cozy kitchen-living room with a typical Bavarian dining area, including a corner bench and a pull-out couch. The separate bedroom contains an additional, third bed.
The bedroom has fly screens and blackout curtains; use of the washing machine and dryer is available for a fee.
Chieming is located on the eastern shore of Lake Chiemsee. In addition to 8 km of freely accessible swimming beach, there is also a public beach and several kiosks along the shore. The town has several restaurants, a supermarket, a butcher shop, a post office, a bakery, and a number of other shops for daily needs. A short drive takes you to the Chiemgau Mountains, as well as our county seat Traunstein, Rosenheim, or Wasserburg (“Little Italy”)—even Salzburg is only about 35 km away from us. Here in Chieming, you can follow in the footsteps of the Romans, take a walk along the lake, watch breathtaking sunsets, or simply unwind.
We, the Wallner family, have been running our commercial fishing business on Lake Chiemsee for 12 generations. Every Thursday (and also on Tuesdays from Pentecost through the end of September), we offer freshly smoked fish, and in the summer, fish sandwiches as well. We also offer fish caught fresh from Lake Chiemsee. Since the early 20th century, we’ve been renting rooms to “summer visitors”—and now we have four vacation apartments and our cozy vacation cottage. Here, traditions are still very much alive—whether it’s the traditional costume club or the brass band, there’s always something going on.
