Gion Kuromatsu

This hotel opened recently, and it shows. Everything is immaculate. The staff were attentive and quick to help whenever we needed it. They gave us great restaurant recommendations, walked us through the best ways to get to our next town, and helped us sort out tour options. The room was beautiful, down to the nice glassware and quality bath products. We were greeted with a welcome drink at check-in, and a tea service was set up in the room when we arrived. Small touches, but they made us feel cared for. The lobby bar was a treat. A good selection of beer and whiskey, plus snacks and little desserts. I really appreciated coming back each day to cold drinks waiting for us. It felt like coming home. I also loved the espresso maker in room and downstairs. The location is ideal, within walking distance of everything Gion and downtown Kyoto have to offer. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat. We didn't want to leave.

Could have had a few warm breakfast treats. But overall awesome.

unbelievable cosy and high standard hotel with a family character. the all you can eat and drink offer is incredible. we really enjoyed our 3 nights there.

nothing

Everything, brand new, clean, everything is so thoughtfully curated. Amazing bathroom and toiletries. Great food and drinks. Amazing service from the great team. It’s boutique so very intimate with not too many other people there. So close to all Gion has to offer, many temples, restaurants and shops close by.

Absolutely nothing!
