I have been coming to Maine on vacation for years and I have to say carefree point is the best place I ever stayed . It is perfect ! Exceeded our expectations . Definitely will book here again in future . Thank you to the kind and welcoming owners who let us in a little early and sharing this spectacular property with us a few days ago. Positives: It was a cute cabin. Had all the kitchen items you needed to cook. All paper goods supplied and towels for the bathroom. Nice size bathroom. We thought there was only one room with a bed and then a futon couch, but was nicely surprised by a second bed in a nook off the living room. Had movies and a few games available. Beautiful view and close to the lake. Had a place to have a fire and cook s'mores. Quiet area.Negatives: It was not made clear how far down a dirt road the property was. There were other cabins that were very close which we did not realize. The property lines were not defined. The bed mattresses need to be updated. They were very uncomfortable.

We had a fantastic vacation here! The beach was perfect for our three kids to swim, and the lake was beautiful—much quieter than we expected. We spent a lot of time swimming, fishing, and even frogging, which made for some great family memories.The house itself met all of our needs and comfortably fit our family of five. We especially appreciated the newer Weber grill—it was clean and perfect for grilling dinners.That said, the house could benefit from a deeper cleaning and a little handyman attention to a few small details. The water at the fixtures wasn’t the best, but it worked fine for a camp.Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would come back without hesitation!

Checked in to find full garbage cans, and they were never emptied during our stay. Temps got into the 80’s during our stay and the trash definitely stunk. Had no hot water for the first 24 hours of our stay. Not sure what happened, but eventually was fixed. Location is great. The little beach was perfect for our kids (2 and 7). Enjoyed the fire pit right on the water. Beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space to hang out, but REALLY need to invest in new living room furniture. Chairs are very old and uncomfortable. Liked that we were close enough to a gas station/convenience store if we really needed something. Used the grill - worked great, but was left very dirty and only supplied a scraggly old grill brush. No trash bags were supplied. Only a shower too, no tub, which is hard with a two year old. Overall, good for the price. No difference to the kids which is all that matters….
