Great communication from the host, Whatsapp was answered almost immediately. They sent a video showing the approach to the property and where to find the key which was very helpful, particularly as we arrived after dark. There is off road parking in front of the apartment. The host had provided a good variety of basic food and drink as a start which was unexpected and very welcome. The location is well situated for car travel around the island and parking is mostly free. Rhodes town and the airport are around 30-40 minutes away, as is Lindos in the opposite direction, Seven Springs is just down the road, Faliraki and its beaches and entertainment is a 15 minute drive. Pefkos beyond Lindos is worth a visit for its beach and restaurants. Afantou itself feels less touristy and more of a locals town, it has a small square with bakery/cafe and various restaurants and is walkable from the apartment. The apartments feel new, luxurious, modern and spacious. The beds are very comfortable. The shower rooms are clean and modern with excellent hot showers. Good quality hand wash, shower gel and conditioning shampoo are provided in wall mounted pump containers and good quality toilet paper is provided - these small things are a welcome addition. The hairdryer provided is light weight and powerful. There are large screen smart televisions in the living room and both bedrooms. I travel with a friend, we are both in our 60s and after an early meal we like to relax in the eveing and watch a film so this was very welcome. There are balconies each end of the living room, and a balcony for each bedroom. Plenty of space to hang damp towels/clothing with a clothes airer provided. The swimming pool is small, not really for swimming, just to take a welcome dip, the view from the pool area is green and pleasant and the area is kept very clean.

We loved our stay but for the sake of balance and information for anyone thinking of booking these are the small minus points and/or areas where improvement could be made ... The area surrounding the apartment building is quite shabby, little narrow poorly maintained roads and quite a run down feel. Whilst I mention this it didn't bother us as the surrounds of the apartment block are well planted with irrigation and are well kept. Afandou beach is shale rather than sand and isn't attractive, there are much nicer coves and beaches around Rhodes although if you want to get away from the crowds, Afandou beach is very long and relatively empty. I always take coat hangers - there are rarely anywhere near enough in any holiday rental. This apartment was no exception, it has plenty of wardrobe space but only a handful of coathangers - a couple of dozen more would be a cheap addition and very helpful. The kitchen area is the least well thought out area in the apartment, probably assuming most holiday tenants eat out. There is a fridge freezer, 2 ring induction hob, oven and large sink, with plenty of crockey, glasses and cutlery, and microwave and coffee maker hidden away in the cuboards. What is lacking is workspace or plug sockets. To plug the kettle in it is necessary to use an extension lead hidden away and plugged in inside a cupboard housing the microwave oven. There is no dishwasher but neither is there a draining board, so a small drainer would be a useful addition. We always eat out apart from making tea/coffee and snacking - sampling the local food is part of the holiday for us, so the only thing that bothered us was nowhere to drain our small amount of washing up. None of this would put us off visiting again and recommending this apartment.

Everything about the apartment was great. We stayed there with our 7 month old baby, and they provided us with a crib and a high chair. The pool was 10/10, it was the main reason we decided to rent the apartment so we wouldn’t have to go to the beach all the time with our baby, and we can confirm it was the best decision. They clean it twice a week, and halfway through our stay, they offered to do a cleaning of the apartment. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need for cooking. There are supermarkets nearby that you can walk to, and the center of Afantou is about a 10 minute walk away, where there are plenty of places to eat. The beaches are also very close by car, and Old Town is about a 30 minute drive, as is the airport.

We felt that they sent us the access code a little late, but communication was always very smooth!
