Belsay Hall, Castle and Gardens is also nearby (11 miles), with its medieval castle and 30 acres of gorgeous gardens. Heading north, you can visit a range of historic sites including the National Trust’s Cragside, Lordenshaw Hill Fort, Brinkburn Priory, and Netherwitton Hall, all within 11 miles. To the east, explore the Nature Grotto at Hartburn Forest before heading to the friendly town of Morpeth (11 miles) for a rest and a bite to eat. Venture west into the spellbinding Northumberland National Park (6 miles), known for its amazing scenery, fantastic walks, challenging bike trails, abundant wildlife and official Dark Sky status.

Entering this elegant lodge, the welcoming porch leads through to the chic and inviting open-plan lounge/kitchen/diner. With skylights allowing plenty of natural light to stream in through the vaulted ceilings, this is a fabulous space for everyone to gather and unwind after a wonderful day out. The large picture windows and sliding glass doors offer glorious views of the surrounding countryside, while the underfloor heating keeps you warm and toasty throughout the year. The central lounge sits around the welcoming wood burner which is set in a stone hearth, providing a cosy area for you to sit back and watch a movie on the Smart TV, or take in the views through the bifold doors. The cheerful dining area is over by the second set of French doors, perfect for enjoying all your favourite family dishes which you can cook in the sleek and beautifully equipped kitchen to the rear. Exploring the property further, you will find the two light and relaxing bedrooms, each decorated in soothing shades and featuring a Smart TV and pretty views over the gardens. The cheerful twin room is to the front of the property, and the stylish king-size room has a handy dressing table and a lovely en-suite shower room. Finally, the refreshing family bathroom is opposite the twin bedroom.

Stepping outside, there are two lovely south-facing patio areas with plenty of garden furniture where you can sit back with a drink and enjoy some al fresco dining while taking in those fabulous Northumberland views.
