Olimstay Jamsil

I love that it was cozy, and I had everything I needed.

Nothing, everything was wonderful!

I absolutely loved Olimstay Jamsil. After travelling around Seoul for a couple of weeks, this was by far my favourite stay. I honestly wish I’d stayed here first! The location is fantastic, just 1 block from the train station, making it so easy to get around Seoul. The neighbourhood was a highlight, and I felt very safe here as a solo traveller. Compared with the more touristy Myeongdong, it felt like a wonderful glimpse into everyday Korean life, with shops selling fresh fruit I got the asian pears and yellow kiwi. There's a delicious homemade grab-and-go dishes along the high street, I got the japchae. Also, there's a really good ginseng chicken soup restaurant called Baekse Samgyetang. The newly remodelled rooms are lovely, and the bed was so comfortable it felt five-star. Everything was clean, with both room and bathroom slippers and lovely toiletries with what smelled like a sandalwood scent. The vanity area also doubled perfectly as a workstation. I had a corner room with 2 windows, both double-glazed, and couldn’t hear any noise from outside. The included breakfast was fantastic. I loved starting the morning with a traditional Korean breakfast of delicate broth w/ a protein, rice, vegetables and a protein dish. It felt so nourishing before a day out. They also cooked eggs to order however you liked them, and there was fresh fruit, bread and Western options too. There were so many thoughtful touches. On my floor, there was a filtered water station with hot and cold water, ice, a lovely selection of teas and a larger shared fridge if you needed extra space. Extra toiletries and towels were available to help yourself to. I also used the laundry room, which had two brand-new washing machines and dryers, completely free of charge. Such a bonus during a longer trip! The staff were warm, friendly and helpful, and it was lovely to see familiar, smiling faces each day. I felt so comfortable and welcomed here.

There isn’t an elevator, but the staff kindly help carry your luggage up and down the stairs, so this wasn’t an issue for me. However, if you or someone you’re travelling with has limited mobility, this hotel may not be the best fit.

Sehr nettes hilfebereites Personal. Hier wurde die Koffer bei Anreise direkt übernommen und in das Zimmer befördert. Ebenfalls bei der Abreise wieder nach unten. Hilfe bei koreanischen Sprachbarrieren oder wo was in Seoul zu finden ist wurden immer perfekt beantworrtet.

Location, proximity to the subway; staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Laundry room was a plus.

Room was very small. Cleaning of the room was inconsistent….room only cleaned once during our four night stay.
