On the first floor is the living area, consisting of a practical kitchenette with a dining area and a cozy living room featuring a traditional wood-burning fireplace and a well-curated bookshelf. Upstairs on the first floor are the bathroom and the sleeping area, which includes a double bedroom and a single bedroom, both furnished with antique-style pieces that tell the story of traditional Lucanian homes. A genuine home that has stood the test of time, perfect for those seeking a stay that is more than just a place to stay—but rather an immersion in the warm and relaxing atmosphere of an ancient mountain village. Located just a few steps from the Basilica of Sant’Egidio Abate, the house allows you to explore the historic center on foot along a picturesque pedestrian path that winds through narrow alleys, past fountains, historic underpasses (“spuorti”), and offers panoramic views of Mount Alpi.
Latronico offers a unique combination of wellness, history, and outdoor sports:
- The renowned springs of Calda with the Terme Lucane, the spectacular waterfalls of the Oasi del Benessere, and the historic Calda Caves, an archaeological site of great value.
- The MULA+ museum complex (with sections dedicated to archaeology, rural life, and thermal baths) and the famous contemporary art installation *Earth Cinema* by artist Anish Kapoor in the thermal park.
- Nestled within the Pollino National Park, adventure seekers will find hiking trails on Mount Alpi (famous for its rare Loricato pine trees), walks through the Magnano Forest, guided ATV tours, and a network of over 300 km of trails for mountain bikes, e-bikes, and gravel bikes, supported by specialized bike centers.
