Further afield, attractions such as Sweetheart Abbey (12.5 miles) and Threave Gardens and Castle (14 miles) offer a glimpse into the area’s rich history, while the RSPB Mersehead Reserve (4.5 miles) is a haven for wildlife lovers. For golf, head to the local club (0.5 miles) or the Southerness Championship Links Course (7 miles) for a more challenging round.
