Sleeping up to four guests across two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, this cozy A-frame is ideal for couples traveling together, small families, or anyone looking to slow down and settle into mountain life.



As you arrive, you’ll find the classic triangle silhouette nestled among the trees, offering a quiet, private retreat surrounded by forest. Step inside to a thoughtfully designed open living space where the pellet stove keeps things warm and inviting on cool Catskills evenings. The kitchen is outfitted with sleek Smeg appliances, making it as fun to cook in as it is to look at, whether you’re whipping up a slow weekend breakfast or a cozy dinner after a day on the slopes.



The first-floor bedroom features a comfortable full bed, with a washer and dryer conveniently tucked into the closet for longer stays and post-hike laundry. Just nearby, the downstairs full bathroom offers a shower and tub combination.



A striking spiral staircase leads you up to the second floor, where you’ll find another bedroom with a full bed, tucked beneath the peak of the A-frame for a true treehouse feel. Skylights fill the upper level with natural light by day and open up views of the stars at night, while a small Juliet balcony lets you step into the fresh mountain air and take in the surrounding woods. The Neighborhood:

Set in the Stony Clove Valley between Phoenicia and Hunter, Route 214 is one of the most scenic drives in the Catskills, winding past Stony Clove Creek and through the dramatic Stony Clove Notch. Just up the road, Devil’s Tombstone and Notch Lake offer access to the Devil’s Path, one of the region’s most iconic hiking trails. Triangle A-frame is a skier's paradise, set directly between Hunter Mountain and Belleayre, each just 20 minutes away, with Windham Mountain Club a 30 minute drive. The hamlet of Phoenicia, 10 minutes south, is home to the beloved Phoenicia Diner, local cafes, and summer tubing on the Esopus Creek. Head north to Tannersville for Kaaterskill Falls, North-South Lake, and casual eats, or east to Woodstock for galleries, boutiques, and farm-to-table dining. With fresh powder in winter, swimming holes in summer, and brilliant fall foliage, this corner of the Catskills is a destination worth returning to in every season of the year.



Getting Around:

Triangle A Frame is about 2 hours from New York City and guests should plan to travel around by car as it is a rural area with limited public transportation. The main routes to access the town are the New York State Thruway (I-87), to NY-28W.



In the winter, we recommend a car with four-wheel drive that can handle the snow and gravel roads.
