Black Rock Oceanfront Resort

The view was amazing ! Our room was quite large with comfortable living room, huge bathroom and comfy bedroom. The lounge was a great place to hangout before dinner and the restaurant was very good.

La vue sur la mer exceptionnelle et la possibilité de prendre notre petit déjeuner dans notre belle grande suite. Endroit inoubliable pour célébrer notre voyage de fiançailles.

Nous avons été réveillé en pleine nuit (3h du matin) par des travaux réalisés à proximité de notre chambre. Aucune excuse formulée. Nous avons réservé au restaurant un soir et nous avons été placé sur une table en retrait de la vue. Ce n'est qu'après avoir insisté pour être placé près des baies vitrées que nous avons été mis sur une table avec vue (dommage d'avoir du le demander).

The location and views are beautiful. A short walk to the small town and a short walk to the wild Pacific trail. We stayed in one of the suites, a short walk to the main building and it was lovely and very clean. We were kindly allowed to check in early as our room was ready. Reception and bar staff were lovely and friendly.

We paid approx 1800 dollars for a 3 night stay without breakfast and did not feel like it was worth this. You have to pay for water in the room + use of umbrellas which we found ridiculous considering we have stayed in boutique hotels that offer these for free. We had lunch in the restaurant and the service was shocking. We were left waiting to be seated while the waitor was standing around and there were only approx 4 tables in the whole restaurant. The staff were so slow that we had to ask them if we could place an order after waiting several minutes (it was not busy). Our glasses were empty for so long that we went and got a water jug ourselves. It did not feel like luxury or worth the money we spent. The staff were really friendly but need better training. Food was ok. The pool is absolutely tiny for the size of the resort. You have to walk through the small gym to access this. We had booked the hotel as we thought it would be a little bit of luxury for the end of our trip and it felt the opposite. We had mentioned that we on our honeymoon and no acknowledgement of this by the hotel was made. We voiced this feedback when checking out so hopefully some improvements might be made, however it's obvious from several other reviews over the past few months that many of the issues mentioned are ongoing. We would not recommend staying to friends or book again.
