Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Orlando International Drive/Convention Center

The breakfast area was impeccably arranged. The menu was superb. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. It boasted one of the best layouts and menus that I have ever encountered during my travels. I was pleased with what I was expecting. The location near the Icon Park was a plus.

I was troubled by the sound of the air conditioner and a watermark on the ceiling. I found a small critter or two in the bathroom. That is it.

The hotel has a great location, the environment is clean, and the staff was always very polite and friendly. If you are going to the Universal parks, there is a shuttle that takes you there and brings you back, just make sure you don’t miss their scheduled times! The breakfast has a good variety, and having a waffle maker is a very welcome bonus. I also liked the size of the room.

The bed was extremely uncomfortable. It honestly felt like there was no mattress at all because of how uncomfortable it was. The laundry system is also very flawed, causing delays and disorganization. The times I needed to use it, all the machines were being used by the same family. There should be a limit of one washer and one dryer per family to avoid this kind of inconvenience. I was also a bit bothered that parking is not included in the hotel rate. If you are going by car, don’t pay through the QR code app on the posts. Go to the front desk and ask to pay there instead. You will pay the parking fee without the extra tax.

Location and friendly staff

One of the two elevators was out of service until the last two days of our stay, so we had to wait quite a long time for the only elevator that was working. Several times, we chose to take the stairs instead. Only three “standard” towels were provided even though there were four guests in the room. The yogurts at breakfast kept running out and were not replenished. There was also no one monitoring the breakfast area to make sure food was not being taken upstairs. The rooms were very humid!
