Hampton Inn Charleston North

Overall, a good Hampton Inn. The guest ambassador, Matt, was very helpful and friendly as were the receptionists when we checked in and out The property is up to Hampton Inn standards, and the breakfast was too.

There is a parking app, and the motel asks for a parking fee. Since the motel is inexpensive, it is not a major concern, but I was a bit surprised as Hampton Inn is the first motel to ask for a separate parking fee. The point of a motel as opposed to a hotel is the "motor" aspect is made more convenient. Hampton Inn's adoption of a parking app is a major departure from the days of US Route 66. Also, there is an app available to tip the cleaning and other staff. I tried to use it, but it insisted on knowing my email address even though identifying information had already been provided to the motel. I have no interest in additional junk email, and I'm sure had I entered my email, that would have been the result.

The breakfast buffet! Eric and Megan are fabulous! The day shift front desk clerk was great as well. My Archie gave it a tails up as well!

Hotel was Dirty. Washcloths were so old and thin I l could see my hand through them. Mattresses need to be replaced. There was hair in the bathtub. The carpets in the halls had clearly not been vacuumed for a long time. I was charged $14 to park my car in your lot? Breakfast was marginal.
