UNCOMMONER HOTEL by Reverie Boutique Collection

This is essentially an upmarket motel complex that is very tastefully decorated with great staff and well maintained, scenic grounds. Everything you need is on site which is ideal if you’ve been travelling all day as we had.

I enjoyed the pool. it's nice to be able to get good coffee and nice egg coissants in the AM. The grounds are very nicely maintained and it is a lovely size property . We enjoyed the lawn games. The mattress was great.

The indoor pool needs a deep clean as the floor was a bit slippery. The staff was helpful, but could be a little more relaxed.at the front desk. The pool towels , a bit larger in size like your bath towels would be great.

It was a wonderful hotel, the room was beautiful and I might add the bed is really comfortable

We were supposed to stay at this hotel from September 24th to September 28th, having travelled all the way from Germany. When we arrived, the staff were genuinely friendly and welcoming. We liked the hotel, felt comfortable at first, and everything seemed perfectly fine. Unfortunately, the experience changed completely on the second day. While we were out on an excursion, local residents warned us about the approaching Nor’easter storm. We were told that the storm could become extremely severe and that there was even a possibility that the bridge connecting the area to the mainland could be closed. As visitors from Germany, we took these warnings very seriously. We became genuinely concerned for our safety, packed our belongings and decided to leave the area and drive inland to get out of danger. What is particularly disappointing is that the hotel had not warned us about the approaching storm in any way whatsoever. When we arrived, I had personally explained to the hotel staff that I was travelling with an assistance dog because I suffer from severe panic attacks. My dog is there specifically to help me in situations when my anxiety and panic become overwhelming. Being confronted unexpectedly with the possibility of being trapped on an island during a major storm was therefore an extremely distressing situation for me. After we had left, we immediately informed the hotel about what had happened and explained why we had been forced to leave. Instead of showing understanding or even the slightest degree of compassion, we were told that this was our own fault and our own bad luck, because we should have informed ourselves. We were told that the storm had supposedly been all over the news. The problem is that we are from Germany. We do not have American television, local news or the same weather information available to residents.
