Staff. After entering the empty lobby to check in, i immediately noticed the male at the front desk was on the phone. No problem there; and i was happy to wait. Nearly 10 minutes later, however, there were a couple problems: 1) i realized that the male on the phone, who may have been the general manager or a relative of the general manager, had not even acknowledged me even though i was the only other person there and i was no more than 20 feet away from him. A simple wave and a shrug while pointing at the phone would've been fine; and 2) being that i was no more than 20 feet away, i couldn't help but hear this guy's half of the phone conversation. right around the eight minute mark, it occurred to me that at no point up until the eighth minute did this guy ever try to wrap up his phone conversation or press the other person on the line to do the same, or ask the other person if he could put him on a brief hol or call him back because there was a guest waiting to check in, OR rung any bell or hit any buzzer to alert someone to come to the front desk and check me in. to the contrary, it was completely obvious that i was of little to no importance to this guy whatsoever compared to who he was speaking to over the phone and gave me the distinct impression that he had already either settled on the fact that i would either wait regardless of how long it took for his phone conversation to end or i would get frustrated and leave and he was good either way.. when he finally hung up the phone, he offered no apology whatsoever for the long wait and actually spent about five minutes toward the end of the check-in process challenging my negative responses to his questions regarding things that would result in the forfeiture of my $60 security deposit for my room. "Do you have any pets?" "No."
