It was definitely an older hotel but appeared to be in decent shape. Staff at check-in extremely friendly. Good for a short stay but wouldn't recommend for a long stay. We were there for my granddaughter's graduation from SIU and hotels were scarce.
Various areas around the room had noticeable cobwebs which we cleaned up. Refrigerator looked like someone took a hammer to the front of the door and the toilet lid was broken and patched together with a heavy amount of glue. Everything was functional but wasn't very appealing.

The location was cool.
Breakfast could’ve had a meat selection. And a juice dispenser would be better than a pitcher like from home.
