Baymont by Wyndham Effingham

Front desk staff was super friendly. The room itself was very clean and well designed with new furnishings.

5/5 - Highly recommend for a comfortable, hassle-free stopover! We stayed at the Baymont by Wyndham in Effingham for one night as a transient stop on our way to Chicago, and it ticked all the boxes for us. Even though we arrived a little bit early yesterday, there was absolutely no issue with checking in. The person at the front desk was really friendly and made us feel very welcomed right from the start. Our ground-floor room was nice, large, and perfectly equipped. It featured two queen-size beds with three pillows each, making for a super comfortable night's sleep. The room also included a TV, a microwave, a dedicated luggage storage area, a couple of drawers, and bedside lights. There was a big fridge as well—though note it has no freezer or ice box, which wasn't an issue for us at all. The bathroom was spacious and came with a combined bath and shower, a hairdryer, and an iron with an ironing board. The included breakfast this morning was fantastic and truly set us up for the day. There was a great offering with so much choice, including tea, coffee, juices, water, cereal, biscuits and gravy, yogurt, eggs, sausages, toast, waffles, and porridge. The staff throughout our stay were lovely. We are definitely getting used to these Wyndham value stays and will absolutely look out for this brand again in the future!

No icebox in fridge- not an issue just an observation

Close to freeway and Chasers bar where they had menu and could call and go pick up food within walking distance, staff was professional, bed decent, trash cans were outside near door and could easily throw trash away, areas to walk dog nearby, pet friendly, breakfast had biscuits and gravy and fresh items and good coffee

Tub wasn’t properly cleaned and multiple hairs in it, had to clean it myself before using, air conditioner was a bit moldy

One bar of soap, air conditioning did not work.

Very dark.
