Exceptionally clean and comfortable.
The room directly above us were a bit loud.

location on Main Street was great because we could walk to everything. Breakfast was very good.
only one elevator in service so long waits. we were on the 5th floor in a suite and could hear constant noises from floor above us - children running, weird creaks and sound of doors opening, strange noises during the night. Is this hotel haunted? Staff at check in were not helpful. We arrived 40 minutes early but room wasn't ready. Was told it would be available in fifteen minutes. That didn't happen. finally at 4 we asked again and were told just a few minutes. Then were able to go to room. Meanwhile we watched several couples check in ahead of us.

The location is probably the best you can get in Lake Placid. Walkable to many restaurants and shops, close to the lake. The room is also of a decent size, the bathroom looks pretty new/renovated.
Don't book "top floor" as you won't get it, so don't waste your money to pay extra for this room type. I got 4th floor (which is in reality the 2nd floor, out of 4 floors for the hotel rooms). It's a bit noisy, you can hear people walking out of bars at night. Common areas: the rooftop is only open when the hotel wants it to be and it's mostly weather permitting, starting at 2-3pm. I wanted to go there to relax, enjoy the view, read a book but not, it's in fact a bar, open to anyone (not just hotel guests).
