Hotel St. Helena

This very beautiful older building almost makes you feel like you've gone back in time, with decor that matches the amazing history of the place. The little garden area was a lovely spot to sit with a glass of wine and talk, or just sit in quiet contemplation, half believing you'd been transported to a Parisian garden. Each morning came with a really nice breakfast, so good that we ditched our original breakfast plans and just enjoyed sitting in the garden again, sipping coffee and working our way through the different options. Location, location, location. It's the perfect home base for exploring Napa Valley, with the added bonus of plenty of restaurants, shops, and art galleries within walking distance. And finally, the real reason we'll be back: Mary, the proprietor, and Elaina in housekeeping. Such wonderful, friendly hosts that you truly miss them when you leave. And please, do yourself a favor and don't book anything until you've talked to Mary. She was so helpful in pointing us to the must-see places and must-eat restaurants. We can't wait until our plans bring us back through St. Helena, because we'll most definitely be coming back to Hotel St. Helena.

Room 216 was a tad on the small side but honestly, it was very workable. There was no real sitting area in the room but that was offset by several common areas on the property that were lovely places to spend time when not out and about in the valley.

Frühstück nicht inbegriffen, gingen zum Bäcker nebenan, war uns so nicht klar.

Das Bad gehört vl. etwas überholt, der Preis ist ja auch recht gehoben.

Great location and cute boutique old-timey hotel.

We were in a room that faced Main St and the noise level was off the charts. The single paned windows did nothing to block out of the constant whoosh of traffic all night and while the karaoke bar stopped at 1am, we were ready to be asleep way earlier than that.
