Banyan Harbor Resort

Banyan Harbor Resort is very close to Lihue Airport (it took us less than 5 minutes to get there). Great restaurants are within walking distance, and the pier and beach make the location ideal. We had an ocean-view room, which was great. The kitchen was well equipped. The bedrooms were spacious, and the living area was perfect for our relaxed morning coffee and watching a cruise ship come into port. The place is centrally located. We could go all the way north (and west) to Hanalei Bay in an hour, and to Waimea in 45 minutes. That made this place ideal for catching sunsets or for charters to Napali Coast. We were also close to Wailua River and various beaches (Kalapaki Beach, Lydgate Beach, etc.). It took us less than 20 - 45 minutes to get to most places. The place was also generous to give us a late checkout and also a key to the swimming pool after we checked out so that we could shower before our long red-eye flight back home.

While the view is great, it wasn't right on the water (which we knew, but the picture made it look like it was). If you are looking for a place to stay and enjoy the beach (and not explore the island), then this may not be the ideal place. I will also add that the picture used for this property can be a bit misleading. The place had a faint (and I mean very faint) smell of someone who had smoked before. We got used to the smell after the first day but it did hit us on day one.

The parking . No sunset west view was not good

Close to the airport. Near shops and restaurants. Across the street from a local beach.

Could have been a bit cleaner.

Le confort, les équipements et son emplacement

L’isolation est inexistante, nous vivions clairement avec les voisins qui n’avaient aucun respect et faisaient du bruit à n’importe quelle heure de la nuit ! Les climatisations sont vieilles avec les blocs extérieurs juste sous les fenêtres y compris les blocs des voisins, ce qui faisait un bruit de l’enfer. Nos voisins mettaient leur Clim en continue jour et nuit, nous avons prévenus l’accueil qui n’a rien fait. Nous n’avons que très peu dormi pendant notre séjour.
