Was affordable compared to other hotels

you can tell that they are trying to "upgrade" the property/rooms but it appears as though some of the things done were possibly done by a lower cost 'handy man' vs a reputable company to save money. alot of the upgrades appeared to be low budget. the hallways had a funny smell, sometimes old home, at times cigarette smoke, at times marijuana smell... the ''free breakfast'' consisted of only a dirty waffle iron that someone left all of their trash and used utensils out and around. and a warmer with sausage and eggs. the outlets that are inside the bedside lamps did not work, there was an extension cord running under the bed to be used to charge items. the 'desk' appeared to be broken and caved in the middle appeard as if any weight was put on it then it would collapse. walls are very thin, had issues with hearing the neighbors way to easily .although when i complained to the front desk it was handled immediately. i did like the little halloween decorations around that was a cute touch. overall i think that if they are going to make the updates/upgrades they will have to invest money properly. it reminded me of the phrase 'lipstick on a pig'
