The quality of the rooms exceeded my expectations. Based on photos and the exterior of the building I expected a roach motel but it was actually really clean. It smelled a bit like cigarettes even though it was a nine smoking room but that's to be expected since the bedding gets smoked on and put into non smoking rooms. The shower was mediocre but it got the job done and there was plenty of warm water. Also the entire walkway and stairwell is covered so we didn't get rained on on our way to our room. Considering they were almost half the price of the hotels around them I for sure thought it was going to be one of those crap holes that buys fake reviews but it was legit.

Late night check in was weird. The front sliding door has a huge sign on it that says "AUTOMATIC" but its broken and there's no additional sign to let you know that you need to push it open. Then you get into this little vestibule type space with a bank teller looking window and no one was there. My fiance stood there for like 10 minutes before someone showed up to give him a key. So that was a little....weird. But the price made the weird worth it.

This was my second stay at this Brentwood Hotel. My first stay was...underwhelming, to say the least and there's another review floating around out there with my negative impressions. This stay was a 180 from the last one. The room was clean and comfortable. There were no lingering odors of cigarettes or marijuana. We had a little problem with the TV and staff was on hand to solve it within minutes. The beds were comfortable and the check-in/check-out process was effortless. I was very happy with this stay at Brentwood and now I will definitely consider them again for future travel plans.

The TV remote control was sticky. Charitably, like somebody dropped it in a puddle of sweet coffee and didn't wipe it off. Uncharitably...well, use your imagination. But really a fairly minor issue overall.
