It was old and quaint

No coffee in the room. No morning food on site.

Very comfortable. Loved the crisp sheets and thirsty towels. Country store next door if you need breakfast or lunch. Rashana (apologies for my spelling) was so helpful with everything! Ransom Tavern on site great food tho’ mostly pizza. Bartender was a bit arrogant. Never did get our drinks from him. Maybe understaffed at bar. Ten minutes to downtown - careful for pay for parking. Young girl in baseball hat prowls the street writing tickets by the minute. Quechee nearby with cool gorge.

A bit of a ride to Woodstock.

We liked it as much when we came here 60 years ago for our anniversary! !

The historic home was lovely. The king bed room was spacious and clean. Travel to downtown Woodstock was only about 10 minutes.

Our stay was disappointing, particularly given the price we paid. When we arrived around 3:00 p.m., there was no staff member available to greet us or assist with check-in. We received the room code by text, but there was no one available to answer questions or provide basic information about the property. When we did see staff members, they were not friendly or engaging. We were also not informed in advance that the restaurant would be closed for the entire two days of our stay. This should have been communicated before or at the time of booking. For the price of the room, we expected basic in-room coffee service. Instead, we had to cross the parking lot in 36-degree weather each morning to get Keurig coffee. The heating situation was another issue. We were unable to regulate the temperature in our individual room. When we called for assistance, the staff member made it seem as though adjusting the heat for us that evening was an extraordinary effort rather than a basic guest-service request. Finally, the website listed hiking trails around the inn as one of the things to do, but there was no information provided about how to access those trails. A simple map or instructions would have been very helpful. Overall, the lack of staff availability, communication, basic amenities, and attention to guest needs made the stay feel unnecessarily difficult. Given the price, we expected a much higher level of service and hospitality.
