Right on the square, if only there hadn’t been a bunch of parking regulations and construction or other things going on
Very old, no fridge, long trek to the ice machine. Not really any amenities.

Hotel Arcata is a charming, older hotel that's located right in the heart of the city by the town square. We loved the ambiance of a hotel that's more than 100 years old and being able to take a short walk to restaurants and other attractions nearby. The bed was very comfortable and the room had plenty of space for us.
I would hesitate to say that these were 'dislikes', but the room didn't have air conditioning, so in the rare event that Arcata has a heat wave, the room would likely get pretty warm. The claw-foot tub was very cool looking, but felt a lot smaller when standing in it for showers.

Rooms are clean and quiet, and the bed was very comfortable. The location was pleasant being on the Square. Parking has been easy and there is plenty of time in the morning to move the car if needed.
All is good!

Loved the location and the historic potential of the hotel.
The hotel really needs a major updating. It has the potential to be so beautiful but there is so much deferred maintenance I do not think I would stay there again even given the prime location.
