It’s an old building that they have done wonders with. The downstairs is amazing. Love the decor. Lots of places to sit, with a little privacy.
Fabulous location! Not right in town (which is a plus …you don’t have to deal with all the traffic) but very close! Right across the street (you can walk up it) from the Bench (great for dinner).
The staff…all of them…very accommodating and welcoming!
Not having an elevator (or someone to assist with luggage) was an issue for sure. The halls were very narrow…if 2 were passing, one needed to turn to the side. The carpet in our room (#201) was filthy. We asked them to vacuum, but the dirt is embedded. Walked around in my socks so that my feel didn’t get dirty, and socks were filthy!!!
Breakfast was a nice continental layout, but basically the same thing each day (in our case for 5 nights). A little variety would be nice.

We loved the lobby area sitting by the fire and playing shuffleboard. Breakfast was really good as well.
Room was a little small but met our needs. It was close to town so easy to walk to town.

- good location near to Stowe town centre
- room was of a good size
- while accepting we had been for one of the busiest weekends of the year (peak fall), the room rate represented very poor overall value at over $550 per night for a very basic room (although spacious as noted)
- breakfast was awful. Make it yourself, no hot food, dreadful quality, extremely limited choice. The type of breakfast you might expect at a Hampton by Hilton, not at an establishment charging over $500 on
$$$$
