LUMA Hotel - Times Square

The rooms were extremely quiet, and the beds were extremely comfortable. The shower water temperature and room size we’re great, AC worked well, and they were able to get our rooms close to each other, which made it very convenient for coordinating our activities and time together. I was pleasantly surprised to see a Dyson hairdryer in the room, so that was a nice perk.

The room was only equipped with espresso sized coffee cups, so we were not really able to utilize the coffee amenities. We had requested regular sized coffee cups, but never received them. We ended up just going over to local shops to get coffee in the mornings. The espresso maker itself is one of favorites. We did attempt to reschedule our dinner at the restaurant downstairs for a little earlier to accommodate a scheduled event, but we’re told they had no availability at an earlier time. We ended up rushing our dinner so that we could make our event only to experience the restaurant having plenty of availability earlier. So we left a little confused on what we had been told about earlier availability.

This was my second stay at LUMA, and it genuinely felt like returning to a familiar place. With so many hotels to choose from in New York, I find LUMA strikes a great balance: conveniently located on the quieter side near Bryant Park, with excellent transport connections and little bakeries and cafés around, yet also within walking distance of so much of Manhattan when you simply feel like strolling through the city. The team looked after me wonderfully. The room and bathroom were very clean and comfortable, and I really appreciate the thoughtful amenities — from the Dyson hairdryer to the gym bag and kettle, kindly provided on request. I enjoyed my freshly cooked eggs, Greek yogurt and blueberry granola pots each morning. My one suggestion would be a little more variety at breakfast, particularly on the savoury side — perhaps good sourdough or crispbreads, a white cheese such as cottage or feta, and more fresh or cooked vegetables. Thank you to the whole LUMA team for making my return feel so welcoming. I very much hope to be back again!

Nice location next to Bryant Park and walk to Times Square, Central Park, bus station, train station, 1 Vanderbilt, Rockefeller Centre etc etc Comfy bed -had to pay extra for a room which didn’t face the brick wall at the back! Staff in bar & restaurant were friendly.

Although we reported 3 times that our tv wasn’t working it didn’t get fixed til the last day. And our request for a cable for the magic mirror never arrived. Shampoo etc really poor quality. Had to pay for water. Niggles but annoying for the price you pay.
