Delicious, home-cooked food, with each of the many dishes described by Patrizia, Diego's wife. The location is a dream with beautiful, gently rolling countryside. So quite, not a sound to be heard apart from the occasional cow-bell as we slept with windows open. After four days in Palermo (!) this was balm to the soul.

Tucked away on the edge of a small village, La Locanda di Cadì was a highlight of our stay in Sicily. We were en route through the Madonie mountains, and came for a quiet night in the countryside. Diego has had a fascinating life and runs this guesthouse and restaurant along with the incredibly warm Patrizia. They welcomed us, and cooked and presented a delicious multi-course meal of local foods and homemade delights. In the morning, breakfast overlooking the fields and gentle hills on the terrace. This is a place where people live, in a small village - so if you want a pristine hotel feel, or "lots to do", don't expect that here. That's not what it is. But if you want to experience the warmth of real people, and just absorb the charms of the landscape, it's a gem.

We loved everything. Other travelers may wish to note the rooms are comfortable, with a fan, but without modern additions such as air conditioning.

Very welcoming couple who prepared a lovely taster meal using local produce. The area was a little rough around the edges but the friendly service made up for it.

It was difficult to walk around the area and we were advised to use a car to reach local walks, as we had driven a long way already we didn't want to use the car again so it was difficult to find things to do before the evening meal. The pictures in the bedroom were not to my taste but that is a personal opinion.
