The main building was a charming combination of architectural styles and beautiful design. Our room was in the stable block which was also in a lovely setting, surrounded by rolling hills and over looking a nearby vale and distant hills. Facilities in our room were perfect for our needs.

The food was terrible, I sent my pizza back twice as it was raw, they did take it off the bill but I was left without a dinner for that evening. If you only offer pizzas on a bar menu it surely can’t be hard to get that right. The wait for dinner was an hour because they were busy. Breakfast on a weekend was carnage and very busy, again had to wait a long time to receive the breakfast staff were friendly but some are very young and lacked initiative. We had a hideaway hut with jacuzzi, although it was lovely the jacuzzi was a little dirty and the smell of chemicals was quite extreme I did use it but I didn’t feel relaxed about it. I think the price of nearly £500 per night is way too high for this room charging 5* prices on a low 4* hotel. The bed was also a lot smaller than measurement in the description.
