Pousada Vila do Mar

I booked this place at the last minute after debating whether to stay longer in Cabo Frio or spend a few days in Búzios. Since the weather forecast was uncertain, I chose the safer option: staying right in the heart of Búzios, close to Rua das Pedras and Orla Bardot. It turned out to be a great decision. The weather was actually better than expected, and being so central meant I could enjoy the city regardless of the forecast and easily walk back if the rain came. The location is excellent, almost around the corner from the famous Rua das Pedras and just steps from Orla Bardot. Pousada Vila do Mar has a rustic and cozy atmosphere, surrounded by greenery and sculptures in the garden. My room was spacious and overlooked the garden, with a large bed, desk, wardrobe and minibar. I woke up to the sound of birds and seagulls, which added a lovely touch to the experience. The bathroom was also spacious and bright, with a great shower and plenty of hot water. I especially loved the little detail of the tulip vase illustration on the window glass. There are quite a few stairs to reach the rooms, and I happened to stay in one of the rooms requiring the most climbing. However, the staff were incredibly kind and proactive and wouldn't let me carry my luggage up or down a single flight of stairs. They took care of it from the entrance to reception and then all the way to my room, which I really appreciated as a solo traveler. Breakfast was another pleasant experience, with coffee, juice, fruits, and either scrambled eggs or tapioca served at the table, while breads, cakes and a delicious cheese bread were available at the buffet. Depending on where you sit, you can even catch a glimpse of the sea. And there were two unofficial hosts around during my stay: two adorable resident cats. If you enjoy walking, the location is also great for exploring the area. I walked to Praia dos Ossos, Azeda and Azedinha, as well as João Fernandes. For places farther away, Uber worked well.

The main thing to keep in mind is the number of stairs. They are part of the charm and architecture of this area of Búzios, especially for accommodations close to the waterfront, but they can be challenging for older guests or people with reduced mobility. The staff's help with luggage made a huge difference, though. Because of the central location, there was some live music from nearby restaurants in the evening. During my stay, it usually lasted until around 11 p.m., although this may vary depending on the season. Another detail: because Pousada Vila do Mar is on a small street connecting directly to the one-way street alongside Orla Bardot, Uber drivers usually drop off and pick up guests on the street behind the property. It is very close, but worth knowing in advance if you're traveling with a lot of luggage. Overall, the location was absolutely worth it for my trip, especially because I wanted to experience Búzios on foot and have everything within easy reach.

Jolie pousada organisée autour d’un très joli jardin à la végétation foisonnante. Personnel extrêmement gentil et serviable. Petit déjeuner succulent. L’établissement est situé dans le cœur de Buzios, rua das Pedras, proche des boutiques et des plages. En haute saison, le quartier peut être bruyant. Mais emplacement parfait hors saison.

Super logement à Buzios. La Pousada est magnifiquement bien aménagée !! Nous avons beaucoup voyagé et c’est une des plus belles que nous ayons fait. On se sent en plein jungle et caché de la vie attractive de Buzios.
