Hotel GIO

A clean and tidy hotel with friendly, helpful staff who patiently answered all my questions. The room was small but comfortable. The mattress and pillows were comfortable, although the bed was a little creaky. There was a comfortable sofa running along the entire exterior wall and a small hanging space with a few hangers, which I found very useful. Hotel Wi-Fi was also available. The shower, toilet and sink were clean, with shampoo, pleasantly orange-scented shower gel, and plenty of towels and toilet paper. The swivelling door shared between the shower and toilet was an amusing and creative use of space. However, water spilled onto the room floor when I opened the shower door, and it was difficult to soak it up with a towel. A small threshold or water barrier would help. I would have appreciated a small table with a kettle and cups for making hot drinks. There was no fridge or kitchenette in my room. Breakfast was simple but tasty. The restaurant and lobby are connected inside, although each has a separate entrance. During my stay, the restaurant seemed to be used mainly by hotel guests, so I wasn’t sure whether it also regularly welcomed walk-in customers. The location worked very well for my visit, as the university where my conference took place was about a 10-minute walk away. Goetheplatz underground station is very close, while the main railway station and the old town were around a 20-minute walk for me. The hotel also let me leave my luggage after check-out, which meant I could enjoy exploring the city without carrying my bags. Overall, a pleasant and comfortable stay, with a few small details that could be improved.

There was a grocery store nearby, but having to choose only items that didn’t need refrigeration made planning meals a little more difficult.

The local U-Bahn station was closed for works/renovations during our stay.

We were attending Oktoberfest and it was a five minute walk. Perfect location. also, there was a breakfast for purchase, which was outstanding lots to choose from. The room was very clean and spacious.

The bed was extremely uncomfortable, and the pillow was even worse.

Le grand lit et le balcon.

La salle de bain n'est vraiment pas pratique, le lavabo fait couler l'eau tout le long du mur et au sol. Très peu de rangement, pas pratique pour plusieurs nuits, pas de crochets en hauteur pour les serviettes. Le sofa est inutile car l'assise ne permet pas de s'asseoir. C'est pas très propre. Et les volets laissent passer la lumière... C'est "beau" mais pas pratique du tout....
