When we submitted our laundry the one staff member weighed it then and the scale said 5 kg. When picking it up the weight increased to 8 kg so the charge was quite a bit more than the agreed 5kg upon drop off.

Wonderful service

The hostel is centrally located on relatively flat, walkable streets. It felt secure at night, the courtyard could be lovely, and the shower had strong water pressure.

• Room and facilities: The bed and main pillows were very hard, while the spare pillows were worn out. The bed squeaked, the carpet was stained and dated, and sound travelled easily through the door. There was little room for luggage, only two hangers for two guests, and a step down into the small bathroom that was awkward to navigate at night. • Shared spaces: The courtyard plants and common rooms need maintenance. The kitchen was short on basic utensils: we found no usable spoon and a bent fork. We also didn’t see any activities or much use of the game room and library during our stay. • Hospitality: A bowl left close to the fridge fell and broke when we opened the door. We were willing to pay for it, but the staff member insisted we had broken three items and searched the rubbish after we said it was one. The five-sol charge wasn’t the issue; the way the conversation was handled made us feel distrusted.
