Château Hôtel Du Colombier

Attractive old style chateau with extensive grounds located in the quiet countryside with very friendly helpful staff. There was a good breakfast with lots of choice and delicious fresh fruit juices and croissant.

While the chateau itself was well painted, it was sad to see how the grounds were rundown and poorly kept--the flowerbeds and lawns were not being properly maintained, and the apple trees were in urgent need of pruning, The glasshouse panes were broken and a disused car lay abandoned. Our "suite" was not a suite in the English sense--just a mid sized double room with a bathroom attached. The room had two upright dining chairs but no comfortable arm chairs. The dinner offering was limited to three over-priced fixed menus.

Great experience in this well preserved chateau! The staff were amazing, room is unique and specious, free snacks and drinks in the room (plus - left flowers for my wife's birthday)

A bit outside of saint malo

Superb location and very convenient to explore Saint Malo prior to catching the Ferry. Restaurant was superb but important to book prior to arrival. Breakfast was fantastic and good value. All staff were friendly, helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Very difficult to find fault with any aspect of the hotel. The gardens and general landscaping could have been better and potentially let down your first impression on arrival. Once inside a very impressive set up

Liked the unique architecture and history. The breakfasts were very good.

Overall upkeep of the property and grounds is very poor. The carpets need replacing, property is dirty and in need of a good clean, and the grounds need to be maintained. Significant investment is needed.
