Hotel Amira Istanbul

The location meant everything was walkable and also enabled easy access out of the old town to get to airport/ elsewhere rather than getting caught up in traffic congestion. Staff were always available and attentive. Taxi stand was outside the front door. Breakfast was great. Rooftop was unavailable due to the rain which was a shame as the facilities/view up there looked excellent.

We had to keep balcony door closed due to rain and room did get quite hot. Didn’t find the air conditioning to be effective but it may have been user error!

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The hotel is very clean and comfortable. Great location in the old town.

This hotel is very close to the Blue Mosque and other similar attractions, if this is the main purpose of your trip to Istanbul, this is a good place to stay. The staff were very helpful and keen to look after the guests. The gym is well equipped and the rooftop deck is well set up and spacious (nicer than most in the area - photo is view from bar).

The rooms are large but desperately need an update (bathroom, carpet and wall paper are all very dated) and our sea view was definitely not as pictured (tiny thin verandah and we had to lean past a tall wall to see the view - it was not a nice place to sit at all). The hotel is located in an eclectic area with lots of older buildings, therefore the view and surrounding streets are not too visually appealing. It is difficult to find good food or dining options in the area and anyone we asked suggested catching the tram or ferry to other locations for good and reasonably priced restaurants (which we ended up doing 4 out of the 5 nights we stayed here).
