Spectacular views over Slapton Ley and Start Bay
Le premier étage se compose de trois chambres doubles avec lavabos, une salle de bain avec douche instantanée sur la baignoire et un WC séparé. Les deux chambres à coucher avant, une double et l'autre lits jumeaux, ont une vue superbe sur la Ley et la mer idéale pour le twitcher paresseux ('birdwatcher!'). L'arrière-chambre double a une vue agréable sur les champs vers la vallée de Widewell. Au rez-de-chaussée il y a une salle à manger et un salon confortablement meublé avec télévision couleur. Une grande cuisine bien équipée avec cuisinière électrique, micro-ondes, réfrigérateur-congélateur, lave-linge automatique et table à manger donne sur et a accès au jardin arrière clos avec étendoir. Il y a un patio avec des meubles de jardin et un barbecue pour les réceptions en plein air.
Le chalet a son propre approvisionnement en eau pompé automatiquement de son puits au réservoir de stockage dans l'espace de toit. Le chauffage au besoin est par Economy 7 électrique qui chauffe également l'eau. Myrtle Cottage est situé sur le terrain de 'Daybreak', la maison du propriétaire, donc, s'il y a peut-être un problème, l'aide est à portée de main. Vanessa and I fell in love with the house from the moment we stepped over the threshold, especially when we found home made cake on the kitchen table to welcome us. The house had a homely feel to it, was clean, tidy, well appointed with spacious rooms, comfortable beds and beautiful views of Slapton Ley at any time of the day. If you're into photography, a night shot of the Ley from the bedroom windows is worth the time setting up. Sandra, the host, lives in the house "next door" and is available for any questions or request's and she made a visit to us to check that we had settled in without any problems and to offer local advice regarding local amenities etc, which was much appreciated. 5 minutes walk away is a farm shop with all the essential's and theres also a coffee shop with cakes etc. Well worth a visit for the coffee and cake and it being the only shop for some considerable distance from the village. The restaurants and eateries on the sea-front suffered very badly from the 2026 winter storms when they were virtually demolished (U-Tube it) but they're being repaired as I write. There are now 2 x business's open for food and drink and they are well worth the money. A tip. Don't trust your sat nav to get to Torcross or you'll end up in some incredibly narrow lanes which are little more than tarmack tracks. Stick to the main road route of Exeter - Totnes - Kingsbridge - Torcross unless you like meeting towed caravans in one of those lanes.

It is a lovely cottage with a fully equipped kitchen. The bedrooms are spacious and they were neatly arranged.The host is very kind and helpful and we enjoyed our stay here. South Devon is beautiful and we would definitely like to come and stay here again. Thanks

Comfortable house, with a private garden and the possibility of doing a barbecue. The rooms are really spacious and well equipped and the owner is very nice.It was a bit hard to find, but we found help easily in the village.Would definitely come back!
