The Grey Owl Inn

Beautiful grounds. Rooms with coffee, tea and all you need. Great location to everything. Easy walk to a beautiful walking trail around the marsh. We loved our room with a porch overlooking the pond. Friendly morning breakfast time.

We stayed at the Grey Owl for three nights. Upon check-in we were upgraded to a much larger room, which was very nice and had lots of extra features. The inn has several rooms but we rarely heard or saw anyone except at breakfast. It was a very quiet and welcoming place. There is a living room and a sunroom which were always open and available for the guests. The lights in the common areas were always on, creating an inviting atmosphere to “come and sit for a spell.” The bathrooms were well equipped with nice toiletries and wonderful high-quality, thick fluffy towels. The lighting in the room was good and the temperature in the rooms were controlled with individual thermostats for comfort. We had a nice balcony, and there was a small refrigerator and microwave available as well as a Keurig coffee maker in the room. Breakfast was outstanding – we had several choices to to select from each day and it was served fresh, hot, and was delicious! The only thing to mention if you are on a tight schedule is that breakfast is not served until 9 AM. The grounds of the inn were delightful, featuring a gazebo and a fountain. The innkeeper was friendly and accommodating. She was available by phone/text if you needed anything , but otherwise she stayed out of sight, so it seemed very private, just like you were at home. I highly recommend the Grey Owl Inn and would stay there again should we return to St. Simons Island.

Nothing! Everything was great. There wasn’t a daily cleaning service, so we made our own beds and we were able to get toiletries and towels refreshed upon request. This wasn’t a problem, but it might have been better for the host to clarify this upon check-in.

This place is absolutely beautiful! The house and grounds are amazing. We stayed In the room Treetops. It was absolutely stunning. Loved that there is a garage to park in and an elevator. The breakfast area over looks the water, where we had coffee, Oj, and delicious foods. I would recommend to anyone to experience the beauty and history of this place!

Enjoyed a very tasty breakfast from selection of several food options. The grounds are very quaint and was a pleasure to walk the pond and gazebo areas..., a great wedding venue I recommend to anyone looking!
