The Lady Maxwell Room at Buittle Castle, Arts & Crafts Room in a Medieval Castle
Magnifiquement aménagée, la salle Lady Maxwell du château de Buittle offre l’expérience d’un séjour dans un château écossais en activité appartenant à un particulier. La chambre est au rez-de-chaussée, avec son propre accès privé à la cour (avec une marche) et sa propre salle de bain avec douche. Un petit-déjeuner écossais ou continental complet est inclus et est servi dans la bibliothèque (également au rez-de-chaussée). Nous visons à offrir aux clients une véritable expérience de «maison de campagne».

We booked one night here for a different stay.
We had a warm welcome from Tobias,the owner. He showed us to our room which was full of character befitting the surroundings of a castle.
The grounds are beautiful and you can walk around them to the river.
Breakfast was in the Great Hall, very tasty.
This is a place to stay with a difference,no television,just peace and quiet and atmosphere. This is an historical stay to relax and slow down.

We spent three nights here and were thrilled. The property itself, the history of the house, the ambiance of the room (we had the Lady Maxwell Room) and dining room, Tobias's kind and warm manner, and the wonderful night's sleep were all delightful. The optional set menu is also highly recommended.

An absolutely lovely stay! Tobias was incredibly hospitable and the grounds were beautiful. We had both dinner and breakfast, as well as wine. All were so delicious and next level. The grounds were breathtaking and so quiet in the evening for a restful sleep. The lady Maxwell room was beautiful and comfortable. It was lovely to have gone to the Caerlaverock Castle before our stay and learn more about the Maxwells. Tobias opened up the family chapel for us to view before our departure and we were so grateful for that. My only regret is not being able to stay longer!
